Building Maintenance: Ordinance # 37 provides for the safety of the residents of the Borough of Newell by requiring that all dwellings, buildings, structures, yards, lawns, courts, lots, walls, fences, sidewalks shall be kept in good, safe, and neat repair and free from any accumulation of dirt, filth, rubbish, garbage, junk, refuse, and vermin or rodent infestation. Each day of violation shall be counted as a separate offense.

Burning: Ordinance # 78 and amendments # 132-92 and 137-94 prohibits burning of any material except during the hours of Saturdays from 7:00 a. m. until 6:00 p. m. Fire must be extinguished by 6:00 p. m. No household furnishings or tires are permitted to be burned.

Nuisances: Ordinance # 127-90 prohibits the driving or parking of any bicycle or vehicle on the sidewalks of the Borough of Newell.

High Grass & Weeds: Ordinance # 131-92 makes it unlawful for any person to allow weeds or any similar vegetation not edible or planted for some useful purpose to grow to a height in excess of (10) ten inches or to remain on the premises in the Borough of Newell.
