Air Rifles: Ordinance # 170 prohibits the firing or discharge of air rifles, including BB guns within the borough limits.
Abandoned Vehicles: Ordinance # 487 prohibits the storage of any vehicle or parts of a vehicle in the open where it shall constitute a danger or potential danger to the health, safety, or welfare of the citizens of the Borough of Belle Vernon. No partially dismantled, non operating, wrecked, junked, or discarded vehicle shall be left on any street or highway within the Borough of Belle Vernon.
Nuisances: Ordinance # 146 makes it unlawful to allow any condition of any property to become a safety or health hazard to the residents and general public of the Borough of Belle Vernon. Therefore, it is unlawful to use or maintain any outside toilet, privy-vault or cesspool; to excavate any hole, depression, or embankment within close proximity of a sidewalk without a substantial barrier for the protection of pedestrians; or to allow any property structure to become dilapidated to the point that it cannot be safely repaired.
Animal Control: Ordinance # 257 makes it unlawful for animals of any kind, licensed or not, to be permitted to run at large throughout the Borough of Belle Vernon. Animals shall be permitted on the streets and alleys of the Borough only when on a leash and under the control of the owner at all times.
Burning: Ordinance # 500 Makes it permissible for out-of -door fires on private property for the burning only of yard waste that is dry and only during the hours of 9:00a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday. It is illegal to burn any garbage or material such as tar paper or shingles that will emit particles into the air. Paper must be burned in a container with a wire top. Fires must not be unattended or left smoldering.
