Belle Vernon Borough
  •        Curfew:  Ordinance # 187 makes it unlawful for boys and girls under the age of sixteen to be on the streets, alleys, and/or public places in the Borough of Belle Vernon at night after the hour of (9) nine o'clock p.m. except during the months of June, July, and August during which the time limit shall be (10) ten o'clock p. m. unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult having legal custody of such child.

  •        Fireworks:  Ordinance # 1 makes it unlawful to sell or shoot firecrackers of any kind within the limits of the Borough of Belle Vernon.

  •        Garbage:  Ordinance # 453 and amendments # 499 and # 502  regulate the storage, collection, transportation, processing, and disposal of all solid waste materials in order to protect the public safety, health, and welfare of the people of the Borough of Belle Vernon.  All residents must pay the annual fee for the collection and disposal of garbage to the borough's authorized collector.  Storage of  solid waste prior to collection must be in approved tightly lidded containers.  Yard waste may be placed next to the containers if it is tightly secured.  Newspapers and magazines should be tied securely or placed in boxes to not more than 50 pounds in weight.  Dumping garbage or any form of refuse on streets, alleys, or on the bank of the river is prohibited. 

  •        Housing Regulations:  Ordinance # 291 and amendment #335 establish minimum standards governing the condition and maintenance of dwellings including supplied utilities, garbage, control of insects, rodents, or other pests, cleanliness of facilities and other  physical things to make the dwelling safe, sanitary, and fit for human habitation.  This may include owner occupied as well as rented properties.  The responsibilities of owners and occupants are outlined in detail.
